D.I.S.C. The Art Residency: flourish in the heart of the weaver’s village, treasures and respects the rich local culture. Our commitment to preserving this heritage is unwavering, guided by strict rules and regulations that safeguard the essence of the community.

Shared Accommodation: Nurture friendships in cosy shared accommodations, encouraging cultural exchange and bonding over shared experiences. Residency will provide a room for two fellow resident, and 750 square feet shared studio, 50000 square feet open space with a mango garden with internet facility at Fakirpur weaver’s village.

Authentic Odia Food: Immerse your taste buds in the flavours of Odisha with our delicious local homemade food. Mouth-watering dishes prepared with love by our talented village chefs. The sweet-smelling rice cultivated from local paddy field with organic vegetables, spicy curries, experience the hygienic homemade foods of typical village. We provide filtered drinking water, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, tea, and snacks during the residency. Weekend artist will be going for excursion to nearest place to enjoy nature and they all will cooked together having fun in nature.

Local Exploration: Begin your journey through the nature cherish with wildness , culture filled with warm vibrant color, dance , music, morning rituals, witness the vibrant textile of village life, and many more to explore and interact with warm-hearted locals, and gain first-hand insights into age-old traditions and customs.

Joyful Journey of Odisha: The journey as part of our residency, where you'll become a beloved member of a village, relax your soul in the wonders of rural life in Odisha, India, and explore into the artistry of master craftsmen and artists. You'll find a stay in a small guesthouse or even at the artisan's home within these charming villages. This journey is all about discovering the lifestyle and age-old artistic traditions of the countryside, a unique opportunity to embrace nature and enjoy India's rich cultural heritage.

Shared Studio: Start your creative spirit in our common studio space. Collaborate with fellow artists, be inspired by the beautiful surroundings, and craft your masterpieces in a lively, shared artistic environment.

Personal Assistant:If you desire additional support or assistance during your residency, we offer the option to hire a personal assistant at a nominal cost. They will be help you to communicate local resources and experiences.

Application Support:we understand the importance of nurturing creative talent. While our residency is a paid program, we're dedicated to supporting artists every step of the way. If you have access to funding resources, our committed team is at your service, providing assistance throughout the application process. Furthermore, we're pleased to offer reference letters to strengthen your funding applications, ensuring that your artistic journey flourishes. Airfare and Insurance: Artists are responsible for their airfare and medical insurance, ensuring a safe and secure experience. We recommend purchasing comprehensive coverage for peace of mind during your residency.

Cancellation Policy:To maintain the integrity of our program and support local artisans, we kindly request that artists avoid last-minute cancellations. Your commitment allows us to prepare for your arrival and engage with the community effectively. If the applicant cancels the program at the last moment, then 20% of the said amount will not be refundable, and the extra amount will be reimbursed (bank charges will be applicable) within five working days.

Selection Process:We have two rounds of the selection process to find an eligible applicant to join the residency program. Once we complete the selection, all applicants will be informed to complete the registration and advance payment to confirm the spot. The applicant has to pay 20% in advance of the total cost of the residency for confirmation of the seat. If the advance payment is not received from the applicant on the date, then another artist will get a chance to join the residency.

Working Environment: D.I.S.C. the art residency is providing a safe working environment. The organization will not entertain late-night parties and alcohol during the residency. If any violations happen during the stay at the campus, the organization will dismiss all facilities at the campus, and the resident will get a notice to leave the campus within 24 hours.

Art Supplies: We provide basic art supplies, there are local art supply stores can be found very basics material if needed we will organize a trip to collect art material from nearest city. But artists are encouraged to bring their preferred materials and equipment. The surrounding landscape and local culture can be a wellspring of inspiration, so feel free to bring any specific tools or mediums that help your creative process.

Cultural Workshops:Engage yourself in the local culture through hands-on workshops. Learn traditional art forms, craft techniques, or language basics from local artisans and experts. These workshops can be enriching experiences that deepen your understanding of the region.

Local Guides:For those who wish to explore the villages further, we can arrange local guides who can help you to guide you the area's history, nature, and customs. These guides can lead you on informative and enjoyable excursions.

Exhibition Opportunities:The resident artists will exhibit their outcome of residency creations and share artistic journey with the local community. We can organize exhibitions in collaboration with local art venues, allowing you to connect with a diverse audience and gain exposure.

Community Engagement: Participate in community activities, festivals, and events. Engage with the locals in a meaningful ways, understanding new culture and building lasting connections with the village residents.

Local Transportation: We offer local transportation for all artists, with a comprehensive travel schedule shared by our program coordinator right from the start. If you have any personal travel needs during your stay, simply reach out to the coordinator or visit our office – we will arrange you your travel with reasonable price.
